We’re calling in off-grid communal land to build from scratch in Northwest Washington.

My partner and I have spent 5 years living in communities all over the world, slowly learning that the vision we have doesn’t exist where we want it.

The vision is simple - a small-to-medium amount of acreage where a few families dwell, living closely to the land and actively trying to minimize waste production, external land input, consumerism, and reliance on large corporations while maximizing spiritual, emotional, and communal capabilities. We plan to have children so sobriety is a non negotiable (aside from rare ceremonial medicines). Our initial focus will be low tech structures and creating the foundation for syntropic agroforestry.

We know it’s possible. We’ve traveled the globe on little to no money, meeting hundreds of people just like us, who see the planet as a gift for us to cherish rather than destroy.

The time is Now. We are ready to start at ground zero. We are seeking partners for acquiring raw land in NW Washington. We’re willing to lay the ground work over the next few years to make this happen. We have no buying power because we don’t use credit. A friend/partner of ours has some buying power - she would visit the property and continue living/working full time in Seattle until retirement. My partner and I are in our late 20s, early 30s, and our friend is in her mid 40s

We have no interest in profit. We don’t want to get rich and don’t plan to try to sell later to make a buck. There is some change that’s needed in the world and, while there are examples out there, we’d like to create yet another. We’ve consistently lived on little money and would love to show others how to do so.

We currently live in Sedro-Woolley on a 35 acre non-organic farm-share and are hoping to move to different land as soon as possible.

Hey Rick! I’m in the skagit area. We’re on 35 acres on the skagit river. My girlfriend and I are slowly building a food forest (around 1 acre currently) while trying to juggle the rest of our lives. The land owner, a friend of ours, planted a majority of our trees this year while we were in Alaska over the winter. We live in an old barn (quite rustic) and are converting a shuttle bus.

We’re always looking for fellow permies to connect with.
