In severe drought my goji berries became inedible with strong bitterness. Even the birds would not eat them. But, this year the berries have a slight bitter aftertaste and we’ve had a lot of rain. I grow them on the edge of my rain garden, so when there is good rain, there is abundant moisture reserves in the soil.
