We're off grid for water here, but we just use hill water from a burn at the moment and boil it! You don't say what surface you are collecting your water from, but keeping the tank as high as possible will obviously reduce, or eliminate the need for a pump.
I'm not familiar with either of the systems you reference, but you might want to look at sand filters and UV as a final treatment. It depends on what contamination you are wanting to remove; the requirements for drinking water are different from washing or flushing water.

Thanks Nancy! We're looking at collecting from a roof woth solar panels and gutters. I'm looking to remove as much contamination as possible, which is what sent me in the direction of the quantum filters... but it doesn't seem like they've taken off in the UK at all!

HEY PERMIES!
My first post after lurking and checking out the abundance of knowledge here. So thanks for that.

I'm based in the UK and in the planning stage for my first fully off-grid, rainwater collection and filtration system. In my research I've come across something that seems to be a lot bigger in the US, called Quantum Filtration. This is the main US product I found: https://clairify-quantum-disinfection.eu/

In the UK we don't seem to have any drinking water filtration systems that are commercially available using this technology. Is this because it's so new, or because it's not actually worth it for consumers? What with the extreme levels of water polution here on our island, I'm trying to plan ahead with the most effective sort of filtration system. I'll also be using PV to power the pump - and I'm in Scotland  - IT'S DARK! So until we have some wind or biofuel to see us through those dark winters, it would be nice to have something like the Clairify system here in the UK.

The only thing I've been able to find is this, but it seems to have a UV filter too?

Any big, quantum level thoughts on the matter welcome Otherwise, please shed some UV light on the situation!

THANKS PERMIES!
