It's all very personal, just some gut feelings around a few things I noticed, attitudes and of course making comparisons to other places I have lived.  Nothing is going to ever be perfect but I also feel we need to trust our feelings if a place is for us or not.  Learnt that over the years.  And language wasn't a problem although the dialect appears to have guarani mixed into the Spanish, I sometimes struggled to understand all that was being said.

I do have a similar vision to you, I am just not sure where and any details yet.

If you don't want the gringo tax and to stay in expat zones, I recommend downtown in the city for a more authentic experience, I felt safer there and more chilled that the couple of visits to the modern suburbs.

Peter has a lot of knowledge, nice guy too.  I am sure he can fill you in on Paraguay better than me.

Thanks Paolo,
Will check it out.

I am still stucked in Portugal as the potential buyers are still struggling to line up their ducks (or maybe I did jinx myself after all?)😓😓

Asuncion for what i gather is a hot spot for anglo-expats (aka higher prices and much applied so called "gringo tax")

I hear Encarnacion is perhaps a better option? (Argentinian, Brazilian, latino crowd, aka "cheaper", more peaceful, but also less entertainment options)

I wonder what you meant by "mixed feelings"? As a developing nation for sure it has a number of challenges.... have you lived in places like that before? Do you speak the local language? (usually makes you less of a target)

Thanks for the lead.
🙏 E.

Peter from this youtube channel has a small hotel downtown, it was a safe haven for me in the city.

He is also working on getting his ecahli project off the ground sometime soon.

Hope this is helpful.

I have been feeling for a while that I would like to find a few others that are of the same feeling that the they don't wanna participate in having their moves tracked and life dictated to by the system.  I feel the smartphone is a big problem, with Digital ID around the corner, I don't wish to be part of that, anyone else?  I don't think humanity will stop that tidal-wave and that it has already been decided behind closed doors, the path.

A few powerful souls with a vision can create something beautiful.  Nurturing and caring for the land, building natural buildings to live in, growing enough food to feed the community, yes it's hard work to start up but with a positive attitude and a good emotional state we can do it.

I would love to connect with a few people who are serious about it and would like to ween themselves of the smartphone and create a community homestead... in nature of course, off the grid.

In Europe, Paraguay, Brazil for example......  Maybe you even know a place that exists and needs some more strong spirited people to participate.

It starts with finding like-minded people with similar vision, talking and see if there is some resonance and alignment.

Feel welcome to say hello in a private message.
