Sorry I am brand new to permies and don't know which category this should be under.
I have just moved to an entirely wooded property, and would like to clear out a section of it to get enough sun for a mixed veggie-flower-perennial fruit-chickens garden. All of the gardening I have done in the past has been by converting lawn (grass/bacteria) with cardboard and lawn clippings, that was very successful. What kinds of cover plant seeds should I be sprinkling about over the forest leaf litter / wood chips to convert from the fungal centric to the bacterial-centric? I may have heard red clover? And will they really get enough water with so many thirsty trees about?
