Howdy Permies,

Putting this out there for anyone interested - Shiloh Echo '26, a 3-day
family homesteading and permaculture event happening Sept 11-13, 2026 at a 100+ acre property in
Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

I think there's a lot here that overlaps with what gets discussed in this
corner of the forum - particularly around community, cooperatives, food
sovereignty, and intentional gathering.

Food vendors are required to be locally sourced, non-GMO, seed-oil-free - vendors
include Timberline Catering (farm-to-fork), Cow Creek Lamb
(pasture-raised), The Flame Quesabirria, and Lore Coffee Roasters. There's
also a Seed & Plant Swap.

- Foraging walks with herbalist Michelle McAninch (Tamarac Garden,
featured on Rumble's "Eat Your Weeds")
- Blacksmithing with David Walker (500+ students/year, ABANA curriculum)
- Wool spinning and timber framing with Amiable Acres
- Community painting on a giant shared canvas
- Seed & plant swap
- Alt Electronics Showcase with Ameridroid & Mark37 - de-Googled phones,
mesh comms, off-grid tech
- Open Source Hack Bench - soldering, Raspberry Pis, breadboards
- Locksport and bladesmithing demos
- 100+ acres of land, 13+ outdoor activities
- Lodge rooms, RV sites (full hookup or dry camp), tent sites, or off-site
Airbnb
- Fly into Spokane (GEG), ~2 hr drive to venue
- Childcare during talks, kids' activities
- Day passes from $30, stay passes from $115, kids 3 & under free
- 15% Heroes Discount for military/LEO/first responders

It's a Christian family retreat, so faith is woven through the weekend
(morning worship, evening fireside worship with Nashville folk artist
William Toll).

A solid gathering for anyone in the PNW or thinking about a
fall trip to North Idaho. Hope some of you can make it!
