The dailyish freebies are for things that are for sale in the Digital Market but can be unlocked by those subscribed to the Dailyish Newsletter. It looks like your app is already free (which is pretty cool!). As such, another moderator moved it out of the Digital Market to the advertising forum.

I think it's super cool that you're offering it for free to the public, but that means it's not a good fit for our Dailyish Freebies program. Here's a few options:

I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask![

I’m sorry I must’ve misinterpreted,Thankyou so much for responding! πŸ˜‡
Hi Nicole β€” just set up a Digital Market thread for my product, Set2Pipβ„’ (free web app for tracking egg incubation β€” candling, turning, temp/humidity logs, hatch outcomes). Would love to get it added to the dailyish freebies list if it's a good fit:

https://permies.com/t/389346/Set-Pip-Free-web-app

Thanks for making this so easy to figure out!
Set2Pipβ„’ is a free web app I built for tracking egg incubation β€” separate batches, candling sessions, turning schedule, temp/humidity logs, and hatch outcomes, all in one place instead of scattered across a notebook and phone reminders.

What it does:

β€’ Tracks multiple egg batches separately, with a countdown to lockdown and hatch day for each
β€’ Logs temperature and humidity readings so you can actually look back at what happened during a hatch instead of guessing
β€’ Candling and turning records
β€’ Flock records after hatch, so birds carry forward from the batch they came from
β€’ Works as an installable app (Add to Home Screen) with offline support
β€’ Also available on the Microsoft Store for Windows:

It's completely free β€” no account required unless you want your data synced across devices, no ads, no catch. I built it because I couldn't find a tracking method I actually stuck with, and figured other backyard hatchers here might find it useful too.

Still actively working on Set2Pipβ„’, so if you run into anything broken or missing, I'd genuinely like to hear about it.

Here's the full list: every breed that doesn't have its own exact photo (whether it shows nothing or a generic stand-in): If you have a photo you took yourself of [breed name] and don't mind me using it on Set2Pip with credit to you (name or username, whatever you prefer), I'd really appreciate it. Just confirming it's a photo you took yourself β€” I want to make sure the breed ID is accurate and that I have your OK to use it. if it all possible, just a relatively clear photo of the entire bird. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love you all thank you ❀️.
PS. The entire list is actually 161 I think most of them were able to be sourced legally.

## Incubators & Equipment

- **Trust a second thermometer over the incubator's built-in one.** Built-ins drift over time and run a degree or two off β€” toss in a separate digital probe thermometer/hygrometer combo and calibrate both against each other for a day before you load eggs.
- **Forced-air units are more forgiving than still-air.** The fan evens out hot/cold spots, so if you're hatching for the first time or running a cheap styrofoam incubator, forced-air buys you margin for error.
- **Placement matters more than people think.** Keep the incubator away from windows, vents, and exterior walls β€” direct sun or an AC blast can swing internal temp by several degrees without the unit ever "knowing."
- **Auto-turners are worth it if you're hatching more than a dozen eggs.** Hand-turning 3x/day works, but it's the #1 thing people forget to do consistently, and missed turns are a real contributor to early-stage deaths.
- **Add water gradually, not all at once.** Humidity swings are harder to walk back than to build up β€” top off channels/reservoirs a little at a time and let the hygrometer settle before adjusting again.

## During Incubation

I’ll stand on this, but Chicken eggs specifically are more resilient than you think. My first time hatching I used a 20 year old still air incubator made completely of styrofoam. I bought a 3 inch computer fan from Amazon for 20 bucks used toggle bolts to mount it to the β€œ Roof β€œ of the incubator and still fluctuated 96.75 β€˜ ish to 102.3, obviously you want as consistent a temperature as reasonably achievable, just ensure those dramatic temperature swings last no longer than a few minutes and you should be just fine. lol 10 of 11 of those hatched btw.

- **Don't chase every needle-twitch on the hygrometer.** Some drift is normal β€” react to sustained trends over a few hours, not a single reading.
- **Candle at day 7, 14, and day 18 (lockdown).** Early candling catches clears/infertiles so they're not rotting and fouling the air for the rest of the batch; late candling confirms movement before you stop turning.
- **Lockdown = stop turning, raise humidity, stop opening the lid.** Every lid-open during the final 3 days drops humidity fast and can shrink-wrap a chick to its membrane β€” resist the urge to peek.
- **Leave pipped eggs alone.** The instinct to "help" a slow pip is almost always wrong β€” a chick that pips and rests for 12-24 hours before zipping is normal, not stuck.
- **Log temp/humidity swings, not just the target number.** A cheap regime that averages the "right" number but swings widely does worse than one that holds steady a degree off β€” consistency beats precision.

## Post-Hatch / Brooder Care

- **Leave hatchlings in the incubator until they're dry and fluffed**, even if that means waiting with wet siblings still pipping β€” opening the lid too early tanks humidity for everyone else.
- **Brooder temp starts at ~95Β°F at chick height and drops ~5Β°F per week.** Watch behavior, not just the thermometer: piled up and peeping = too cold, spread to the edges panting = too hot, evenly scattered and quiet = just right.
- **Chicks don't need food/water for the first 24-48 hours** β€” they're still absorbing the yolk sac β€” but have both ready the moment they're moved, since some will want it sooner.
- **Add marbles or clean pebbles to the water dish for the first few days.** Newly hatched chicks are clumsy and will happily drown themselves in an open dish.
- **Watch for pasty butt in the first week.** Dried droppings sealing the vent can be fatal if untreated β€” a warm damp cloth to gently clean it, checked daily, prevents most cases.
- **Electrolyte/vitamin supplement in the water for the first 3-5 days** helps rough hatches (long shipping, difficult pip) bounce back faster.
- **Don't mix hatch dates in one brooder without a plan.** Chicks even a week apart in age will bully smaller ones β€” stagger by size/age or add a divider until they're closer in size.

Edit: 10hours later only 5 of 15 have hatched. Hopefully I get some more!

I've been hatching eggs for a couple years and never found a tracking method I actually stuck with β€” mix of a notebook, phone reminders, and just trying to remember when lockdown was supposed to start. Eventually I just built something for myself: set2pip.com
It logs egg batches separately, counts down to lockdown and hatch day, and keeps a record of temp/humidity readings so I can actually look back at what happened during a hatch instead of guessing. No cost, no account required unless you want your data synced across devices.
Mainly built it to solve my own problem, but figured it might be useful to others here too. Still actively working on it, so if you run into something broken or missing, I'd genuinely like to hear about it.Set2Pip
Hey everyone, just wanted to give a quick update. I really appreciate what you guys are doing here, so I've added a permanent link pointing back to the Permies community right on the Set 2 Pip website. If any active hatchers from the forum are testing the app, let me know what updates you want to see next!
