Sunday Streets Missoula
Sunday Streets Missoula is a free community event that transforms Higgins Avenue into a car-free environment on a Sunday morning to host various forms of recreation, exercise and family fun in the street and adjacent parks. Sunday Streets Missoula encourages healthy physical activity, supports active transportation choices and celebrates Missoula as a bikeable and walkable community.
Inspired by the renowned Ciclovia of Bogotá, Colombia (where residents enjoy 72 miles of car-free streets every Sunday!), Sunday Streets Missoula is destined to become a much-loved celebration that promotes physical fitness, builds neighbor-to-neighbor relationships and supports active transportation choices.
Other cities around the United States have already hosted or are planning to host their own version of a Sunday Streets celebration or Ciclovia, including Spokane, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Atlanta, Miami and Paducah, Kentucky!
Sunday Streets Missoula events include a “Missoula Mile” foot-race that supports prostate cancer research and is organized by Run Wild Missoula; free yoga and fitness classes; live music; arts & crafts activities; local nature walk; bike stations; Aikido; dog training; urban golf; wellness screenings; gymnastics; climbing wall; roller derby; bounce house; rickshaw rides, and many more.
Free parking is available at both the Bank Street (access via Pattee) and Central Parking (access via Ryman) garages as well as the Riverfront lots.
