Hello!

My name is Kelsey Wilson and I am a student at Renaissance College, a Leadership Studies program at the University of New Brunswick in Eastern Canada. I am doing a directed study on Permaculture as a social movement and the aspects of leadership that have been used in its spread around the globe. I would like to interview a number of practitioners and teachers of permaculture a few questions to gather data on this important social movement . I would be delighted if you or other personnel from your organisation, as leaders in this field, could be available for a short interview or take the time to answer the questions below.

I believe that this is a very interesting topic which has not been investigated very thoroughly and I am excited to see what I can find. If you are interested please let me know by email at u0e8c@unb.ca. You may either send me your answers to the questions I have included at the end of this email or we can arrange for a time for me to call.

Thank you very much for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

Kelsey Wilson

The questions are as follows:

-      How did you initially find out about the permaculture movement?

-      What inspired you to get involved in permaculture?

-      What makes permaculture unique as a social movement?

-      What types or examples of leadership have you witnessed in your experience with permaculture?

-      Why do you think the permaculture has spread so far and so quickly in such a short period of time (approx 40 years)?

-      In what way(s) could the permaculture movement further itself as a social movement?

-      What strategies do you use to promote permaculture?

-      In what way(s) could the permaculture movement more effectively make use of leadership skills?

-      Is there a need for leadership training within the permaculture movement?
