I was certain that I first heard about the thermette on permies but I can't find any threads about it.

I want to purchase a copper one that will also allow me to cook on top of it. Anyone know of a reliable source?

I've never seen one you can cook on, but they're bpund to exist

Yes, that is the one, thanks. In the meantime I have been reading several reviews on the Thermette brand and I have decided to go with a stainless steel Kelly Kettle instead. I'm still going to read through that old thread though before I order anything.

Amazon has them and Emergency Esssentials as well as Lehman's. First glance emergency essentials appears to be the cheapest.
