I started out years ago doing
underground drip irrigation for my fruit
trees and veggie garden. I now have added 0.6 acres to my original
land of the same size.
After a while underground movement or
roots would break the PVC pipe and I may not noticed for a couple days. So now I want to keep some of the PVC underground but only to the distribution points
and then make it so I can make the valves and manifolds removable and run black tubing on top of the ground to where it is needed. This way I can take the manifolds and valves off before winter and plug the remaining holes.
I can put the wiring in metal conduit and also run it on top and relocate as needed.
This way I can move the lines to where they are needed. I no longer need to water the older fruit trees unless there is a very long drought. I know there is a risk of varmits chewing on the above ground pipe but think that is a low risk.
Anyone know of fittings that can go between 1 inch manifolds to 1/2 inch "Silver-line" plastic coil pipe? Something that can be easily disconnected plugged with a cap?
