Opening for a full time resident member at urban homestead community in Eugene, Oregon. Our focus is on growing herbs, both culinary and medicinal, and making herbal products that we sell locally and online. We have certified kitchen on site.

We have a big vegetable garden, into food self reliance, permaculture, have chickens, bees, will be getting rabbits. We also do a bit of food preservation activities such as canning, dehydrating, and fermenting. We eat meat, mostly local & organic. Meals are shared & based around what is seasonal and is overall pretty healthy. Someone who is vegan/raw food or judgmental about others food choices would not be a good fit.

We have an internship program, as well as family and staff that come and go. We offer periodic workshops to the community in herbs, homesteading skills, midwifery, tai chi, want to expand workshops.

Looking for a full time resident, nice room in main house is available in October. A contribution for rent & utilities is expected. We are looking for someone with experience in construction skills, interested in green building, experience in gardening and permaculture a plus. Someone who has experience and willingness to teach and work with the interns.

We value communication, authenticity, spirituality without dogma, personal space, freedom, work, play, laughter, music, learning, and growing.

We are making the transition to an intentional community as opposed to a communal house, would love to find a co-creator who has energy and ideas.

This sounds like an awesome opportunity for someone! I'm doing my own thing down here in AZ but if I didn't have dogs, tools, music gear, etc, and was more mobile, I'd be heading north! I have good friends in Eugene and have been wanting to spend a summer up there for a long time. They just started a restaurant called Party! If you haven't met them yet, they might be interested in buying herbs and veggies from your group.

That opening for a resident wouldn't still be open, would it? I am looking to relocate to Eugene and would love to be part of a community like this and put more energy into a healthy, sustainable, and local way of life instead of working for some soulless corporation.
And if it's filled already, how would I find out about your workshops once I move down there?
Thanks,
Brian Gerber

The room has been taken, but we may have another opening in the trailer, and we are building a tiny house. We have the intern program right now and we take 4-5 each term. You can visit http://www.eagletreeherbs.com/internship.html to find out more information.
We are not set up for overnight visitors but we do periodic open houses and tours by apointment.
