Incubators...........

We have one of those small square styrofoam (20-30 eggs) Little Giant incubators, and it burns up the turner motors on a regular basis.
We need to incubate eggs, and need one that will last. We do goose eggs, guinea and chicken eggs as well. We do not fill it up,
so I do not think we are overloading it.

we plan to get an incubator and start hatching our own chicks (chicken/turkey) with the hopes of moving to broody hens in the future.
we are looking to do about the same amount of eggs ~25ish.

i understand you need something that can control heat and humidity, and a fan to circulate air so everything is even.


the prices seem to range wildly from DIY-ish to commercial products are available.
anyone with first hand experience, please post up what you have and how it works. pics and/or links to the product youre referring to always help

Go to backyardchickens.com, search incubators, you can find out everything you never wanted (and some you do) know. I use larger more expensive incubators and it's been long enough since I've looked I don't remember who makes the ones I do have.

Not that I know of, my grandfather moved from south/south central Texas as a young boy (early 1900's) and didn't have any communication with extended family.
