Been playing around with Permaculture and Homesteading in Southern MN for about 5 years now. Always looking for more people to share resources with and collaborate.

Lots of great lessons along the way and loads to learn and do in the future. We will be completing a permaculture design soon and looking to continue implementing our designs in spring 2016.

We have lots of wild plum, grape, mulberry and crab apple growing on the property that we enjoy, along with a few apple and pear trees we planted. We also have many Boxelder trees on the property that we tap for syrup in the spring. We have an area that we allowed wild grasses to take back after decades of being in the modern farming arena, but now have happily accepted our two huge hugelkultur beds and a Basswood guild which includes Mulberry, Chives and a few others. In total that area is 3 acres and the rest of the property we plan to develop permaculture principles on is 7 acres. This includes, of course our yard. Can't wait to see the lawnmower become more and more obsolete.

If you are interested in checking out what we are up to or possibly joining in on the fun, check out our Facebook and Website.

Hey, good to hear from you, Wil.
I'm in Minneapolis and have been looking for some MN permaculture enthusiasts to share our gardening successes and failures with.
The big project this year was building a Walipini at Northeast United Methodist Church, but also getting a group going at my church in South Minneapolis, and building lots of cold frames.
Looks like your greenhouses are going concerns this year too.
I've been meeting some urban gardeners here in MPLS, but I love to farm as well. I farm part-time (hah!) on a large family farm in Virginia for a good part of the year.
So it's inspirational to see some of the stuff you've put together in Faribault.
My wife was just down there to pick up some woolen stuff - not a great selection at the mill this time of year I guess.
Anyway I'm glad to check out your facebook link - it looks like a great time over New Year's Eve.

Best Wishes,
Greg

Hey guys, I am a huge permaculture enthusiast relocating to mpls in the Spring 2016. I would love to get plugged in with ongoing local projects and dedicate my time and services to the permie network in the twin cities.
