Nearly a third of the world's population still has no access to safe, hygienic sanitation. This means they have to go the toilet out in the open - in the bush, fields or forests.
The article talks about how toilets are becoming cool. Sure, having a toilet reduces the spread of some parasites and pathogens, but that's not the really interesting bit. What I thought most interesting from a
permie point of view, are the products they are creating from human waste. Composted
humanure of
course, but also cooking fuel.
