Hello everybody,
our names are Zoé and Joshua. A few weeks ago we found out that Zoé is pregnant, and for that we want to move back to Hungary to be closer to Zoé's parents. Right now both of our portugues properties are for sale or for rent.
One of it is a built up offgrid home in a nature reserve, with an own spring and forest in the Serra de Arada, close to the ocean.
It is an offgrid home, a magical bubble in a forest, one of the most beautiful places where we ever lived. It' name is "Castanheiro Cho". This means chesnut ground. And well, it is true. On the property there are some really old chesnuts, and in the forest plenty more.
The land is registered with 3500 m2, but is in reality nearly a hectar. It has an own spring with drinking water and all summer water rights from the property above. The spring is in a cave, that in summer can be used as a fridge.
We lived two and a half years on this land, in winter and in summer and it was amazing. There are all the facilities built up for an offgrid home. When you live on the property you do not have to pay any bills, or taxes for the property.  We installed an offgrid solar system, with a 3000 W inverter, a charge controller, four 250 W panels and two 120 AH batteries. There is a washing mashine and centrifuge, a wodden stove, and a bathtub. We have two inox water tanks, one 550 liter, another one 150 liter. We built up an outdoor sitting place with wooden table and benches. We built a little wooden cabin, where we have a sitting compost toilet. We planted plenty of fruit trees and berry bushes and started to create a forest garden. We installed a bee box for natural bee keeping, that is ready to attract bees next spring.
We built a house with only natural materials (stones, wood, clay), and very big windows. The house is built without any cement, for that it is considered by law as a temporary construction and 100% legal.
For two years we were covering the house for winter with a ponge rubber and it was working very good. This summer we wanted to make to make the roof with rooftiles, but in the end of June we got to known that Zoé is pregnant. Then we decided that we want to sell and move back to Hungary.
The land is in a hidden valley full of springs and oak forest in the nature reserve of the Serra Arada. Birds are singing and flowers are blossoming all year round. The ocean is only 80 kms away, and the city of Viseu (35 kms), and Porto (90 kms) is also close. The next city with supermarket is around 7 kms away.
The property is accessable with car, but only with a little jeep (like Suzuki Samurai or Jimny).

The price of the land is 49 000 Euros.

In the same valley we also sell our second property for 25 000 Euros, it is a little piece of paradise on the river with natural pools and waterfalls. If you buy both properties, there is option for discount.

We are in the valley up to the middle/end of august. We speak English, German and Hungarian. We can help with the legal process.
If you have any questions, feel free to write us

Have a beautiful day
Zoé and Joshua

Hey Koral,
good news, the properties are still available. And another good news, we reduced the prices. the new price for "Offgrid home" is 35 000 Euros, but we took parts of the solar system (Two 120 Ah gel batteries, the frames for the solar panels, all the cables and the little shelter for the system are still on the land and are included in the price) and the bee box to our new place in Hungary.
The new price for "Little piece of paradise", the other property at the river is 15 000 Euros. The combinated price for both properties is 45 000 Euros.
We will also write you an e-mail. If you do not get it, please check the spam folder.
Have a beautiful day,
Zoé and Joshua

What a beautifull place you live there in portugal.
My name is Marco and i am from the netherlands but living in Hungary

I am looking for a nice place to live in portugal where i can live very isolated and can make some nice place for myself with some places for people who wants to have a retrait in nature.
I have sold / rent my house in Hungary so i am very interested in your place in the valley.

Is this still on the market for renting ore buying?

Hope to hear from you

Guys, be carefull as "The house is built without any cement, for that it is considered by law as a temporary construction and 100% legal. " this is not acurate. The problem it's not the cement it's the construction in itself and even more so if it is "nature reserve". Some municipalies can close their eyes but i really doubt this since it's in a nature reserve...
