We started a small deep mulch garden out front for any of our neighbors to stop and pick whatever they want or need at anytime.  We give away loads from our main garden but we aren't always available when someone needs a big juicy tomato for some burgers or whatever else may pop up.  We're starting small with it and will grow it based on actual usage.  Here's to hoping that it's nowhere near big enough. Black Krim, beefsteak,  salad and cherry tomatoes. Yellow squash, burgundy beans,  okra and aunt molly ground cherries. Plan is to add some dwarf fruit trees and slowly grow and migrate it to more of the food forest style of our main garden as people get used to it and we have the chance to educate. Baby steps.

Installed a swale along the topside of the area. It includes fruit trees and support guilds. Still finishing the full design. The small garden this year was highly productive and well received. There should be a large permaculture demonstration garden with walking paths and community education components by next growing season.
