Aloha all!

First things first, I'm sorry if this post isn't in the right place. I'm new to Permaculture AND to forums. ;)

I recently just relocated to Southern Oregon to care taker 100 acres of property. Prior to moving to Oregon, I lived and studied Permaculture on the Big Island where I got my PDC with Tracy Matfin through Kalani Oceanside Retreat (my old home <3). The property I'm living on now is home to a large womin's gathering that happens once (maybe more times in the future) a year. My current role here is to homestead the property and build beds and just be a steward of the land.

I am so excited to start the process, however when I sit down - I have a block! It's like all my knowledge on how to get started has flown out the window! Does anyone has any tips or tricks for this process? I would love some pointers!

Excitedly,
a newbie in Cave Junction, OR

Howdy Stephanie, welcome to permies!
Sounds like you have your hands full. Can you post any pictures of the property you will be working on? If so you might start a project thread too.

For me the hardest part is taking the time to observe a new property. Getting to know the land through the seasons is pretty important but I tend to jump ahead of myself and have to go back and redo things.

I guess we would need to know more about your starting point. Is there a home or shelter already in place or are you starting with raw land? Is there water of any kind? Trees, hills etc?

If you two don't stop this rough-housing somebody is going to end up crying. Sit down and read this tiny ad:
