Hello Permies!

I've been meaning to register for few years... read quite a bit here and there, got so many unanswered questions...
Hope to get some help here, and provide some, especially for those who have donkeys. Winter's coming and nobody likes a cold a$$ ;)

Peter, 31 yrs old. Cycling is my biggest passion (travelling, ultramarathons), interested in permaculture for few years.

Me and my wife, just finished our 2 years voyage. For the last 2.5months we were walking home for 1 000kms with three of our donkeys. Just settled down for good in Poland. Now we have 8 donkeys, 3 cats, in spring plan to get a dog, some chickens, pigs, maybe a goat, hopefully a cow in the future.

Starting my small (I'll see about that) garden, orchard, just finished building a yurt for guests. Could use some general advice for the design.

I live in a 80 years old wooden house that was built by my grandma. Last house in the village, next to the Świętokrzyski (must be funny for y'all to read that) National Park in the oldest (and smallest) polish mountains. It's rather peaceful around here. There was a car passing on the road few days ago though.

If you're ever around, feel invited to visit, or stay with us as a volunteer. We like having guests around.

Welcome!

Świętokrzyski Park Narodowy is close to my place (~150 km).

You have me thinking of visiting my ancestral homeland, Peter. It is certainly breathtaking.

Please don't hesitate to keep us updated with your progress, and keep posting pics!

Thanks. I like the place a lot Yet it's not all mine. I got almost 7 acres, most of it pasture and a small birch forest on the side.

I had a small donkey named Emmy when I lived in Logan in the early 70s. She carried all of our gear on numerous extended pack trips in Southern Utah. She would jump right into the back of my old Chevy pickup truck when she knew we were getting ready for a trip. We made 2X4 side rails to keep her from falling out and modified some ski goggles to fit her to protect her eyes from the wind. We could put all of our gear for a 10 day trip and Emmy in the back. She was always careful not to damage our stuff or hurt the dog on those long pickup rides.
When I moved away, I gave her to the next door neighbors. She loved their eight kids and they were so happy to have her.
