A few days ago I posted about this guy's
shelter which is built with the same wrap. I also really enjoyed everything else on his English language channel... like his large log cabin and hand made axe
I also questioned the UV longevity of the plastic wrap structures but for bang for the buck you can't get a better Kayak! And many plastic items (like tents) deteriorate faster due to not being tight
enough (wind flapping combined with UV is the killer.). You can carry a roll of that stuff up to a mountain lake, carve out your
wood, build a shelter, stay the night, build and wrap the 'Yak in the morning, and be fishing before lunch. Note: He later covered his kayak with fiberglass for increased durability but it significantly increased his weight. As long as you covered the kayak to store it between uses, UV damage would be negligible. He had a shelter up several years with snow and sun in Northern Russia and it was holding up.
