I think you may find plenty of discussion on codes and taxes for particular regions, but it is so variable between counties, inspectors, states and cities, that you may not find anything that can cover the scope of those topics fully. I am a Carpenter here in East Tennessee and I can tell you that there are different requirements between inspectors in the same
city. Oh sure the code book is the final say, but if you argue the inspectors minor requirement, he may just find a difficult thing you need to fix. Best to follow the doctor's orders: "Just go along with him"
