Permaculture Elder Tom Ward takes us on a 10 minute animated tour of Wolf Gulch Farm in Southern Oregon, USA. It was designed using Permaculture principles and laid out using Keyline patterning. Tom's narrated journey explores water supply and storage, soil building, wind and air drainage, cropping, and an enlightened perspective on the watershed and the future of farming in harmony with natural forces.

Tom's teaching an advanced course in September:

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for posting the info on Tom Ward's video. I wasn't able to get the link to work, but a search turned up a youtube link to the video:

Thanks for posting - the original link worked for me. I have some tech questions about how you achieved some of the effects but I will email you rather than hijack the thread.

Hello,
Regarding the technical questions, I am certainly open to sharing, but you should know this:

I produced this video through Oregon State University's extended campus, because it is content for my online Advanced Permaculture Design Practicum. So I had access to OSU's digital animation and graphics people.

So I did all the filming and editing, using OSU's nice equipment, and I worked closely with the guys who did all the digital animation....but I really don't know any technical details of how they put it together. The main guy I worked with was a student majoring in "New Media" who has a basic understanding of watersheds and is a computer whiz. So i'm happy to answer any questions about it that I can, or even shoot him an e-mail to get any answers I can.

There's another video, Seven Seeds Farm with Don Tipping, that's in the works as well.

Take care,

Andrew
