The book that got me started.   $2.99 at the moment!  (Since today is Amazon Day, it may be back up to full retail price by tomorrow.)

Published in 1983, so no mention of hugelkultur, for example.  And boy he loves his tiller!  But an enjoying read, he made things easy for me when I first started playing with dirt, circa 2004.
