Hello!
My name is Amélie, I'm a 41yo French Canadian woman from Montreal.
I've been living in Panama for 10 years now. I work as a musician and I have a music school. But my first purpose here has always been permaculture.
I have bought 1 hectar of land last year and I'm so eager to start developing (I've started but still at the beginning).
Somehow, I want to share this with someone.
I have a 10yo daughter with me here and a 18yo son in Montreal. I don't want more kids...
Looking for someone smart, resilient,  positive and hard-working, somehow practical (only dated artists and want something else now)

Amelie,
You describe my dream adventure! I have for a long time now been researching Panama for a permaculture adventure. My fantasy is to build a series of natural buildings, use them as vacation rentals that bring people in to learn about natural living practices. Yoga retreats, metaphysical vibes, that sort of thing. Is there any chance you are open to a partnering with a woman? I am 37, have a 14-year old daughter, and currently living in suburban Georgia.
Let me know if you’d be interested in talking more,
Emily

Hi Emily,

Yes, I would definitely want to partner with whoever is interested. As a matter of fact, I am actively looking for permaculture people to buy the land next door, so we can help eachother out.
This is the time to start, I have the land, the knowledge and the energy, just need money to build.

I love the idea of cabins, eco-tourism/demonstration site to get some income.

I wanna get into aquaponics too, I think it would do good here.
The way the world is going,  I think we need to hurry to get our food growing.

Thanks for reaching out!

Amélie  have access to Bamboo?

I created this post https://permies.com/t/149278/Building-Homestead-Community-Costa-Rica

I'm now in Panama :) Puerto Lindo, Linton Bay Marina. It's a day drive to get to your location for a visit.

I thing that Bamboo huts would be great to build. Offer workshop and generate income while building a hut. Then it can be rented out for recurring income :)

Basically offer a course for 2weeks for $2k. Get 10 people and make $20K. Then you buy the bamboo and supplies to built a hut.

Offer a course every month or two and build up your property, and the one next to you.

I like to learn more about the land, size, location, what is on it, etc.

Yes! I love the idea. The local bamboo is not very good but someone close to my place has guadua and I would love to learn more about building techniques.
When can you come?

If I had my own way, I could go today. :) Yet life places some limitations on me. :(
1. My visa expired so travelling is a little more difficult. I'm applying for my Panama Residency now.
Getting the paper work together. Opening Bank account etc.

So between waiting to get my residency and working here, it may be 2 years before I can may a full transition.

Yet in the meantime, I be happy to discuss some ideas, help, assist in anyway I can, online.

We can make a plan for a site visit for a weekend or a week.

Enjoy your day :)
We are getting rainout here this morning :)
Loving it lol
