Ideas for area next to veg garden - adjacent, above + visible

I have planned my veggie garden in a part of my garden, with effectively an earth bank running above it on three sides. Two sides are dedicated to access; one on foot, another for vehicles, leaving one remaining side. The veggie garden is (shortly to be) fenced in to keep out the abundance of rabbits nearby and will be around 160sqm. The area in question sits circa 1m higher than the veggie garden and is approximately 60sqm. It's a bit like a terrace - the below image, I hope, helps make sense of it.

The bank is intentional, making up part of a flood defence system. The ground is very stony and compacted - I've so far planted 1x Quince, but other than that, I mow it. It's a very visible area, so whatever I do here, I must consider the aesthetics.

Water storage is already set up nearby on slightly higher ground, so I do not need to install that. I've considered chickens or ducks, but it's very exposed for predation, and I'm also not sure about fixing chickens particularly, to one spot.

Most likely, a few trees and bushes, and a bench looking back over the garden, will be how I use it. However, I don't want to miss a trick; what would be helpful to have directly next door to, and above, a veggie garden?

Mj, your place looks awesome and you have done a great deal of secession work. Great job!  

I thought about a series of cattle panel arches on the levy. Planted with vining plants that flower would help bring pollinators to your garden. You could even plant peas during the cool season for nitrogen fixing and eat the pods. Then plant green beans during the hot season for more veg.

They would be tall enough to walk under, even use for shade with added benches and a highly fragrant vine would bring a new sensory experience. Or things that open their blossoms at night to create a moon garden.

If the ground is too rocky, you could put a raised bed at the bases of the arches and plant into them.

I leave my arches up all year, because they hold up to strong winds.  Looking at your compass orientation, they might provide windbreak from northeasterlies.
