I made another video to document and share the progress of this 7 yr old forest garden in upstate New York. I’ve been trying to simply convey the ambience, wild swings in weather, etc., without any commentary. This week mild temps in the mid 60's (°F) gave way to freezing days and nights as low as 5°F. The days grow short and winter deepens. Hope you enjoy!
That is a beautifully laid-out and inspirational place! Wow! Thanks so much for sharing a detailed and intimate view of that lovely location.
Permaculture designs are sometimes criticized by those with a conventional landscape mindset as being rather untidy--but absolutely nothing in that way could be assessed here! Simplified complexity, attention to aesthetics as well as biology--the gardener is to be commended. Best wishes for the further development of that site and all the living systems there!

Thanks! The design has mostly evolved organically without any strict plan or anything, and continues to change year after year. There’s just enough organization that to a layperson, it is recognizable as a garden. Yet it is also wild enough to not look too artificial. Going for a balance between wild and cultivated, with some areas that are more organized/manicured and others left to nature.
I bet it's hard to leave and split your annual schedule, spending time away from it! (But the winters in 4a are probably harsh, and maybe that is why you need to get away sometimes!)

We noticed he had no friends. So we gave him this tiny ad:
