Plants for a ladybug garden.

Greetings. I wanna find out which plants are suitable for ladybugs for food, breeding and shelter. I never did anything for ladybugs as I have for butterflies and bees. How benefical are ladybugs to our gardens? I'd love to draw more of them to my wildlife habitats in my neighborhood year in, year out. Please reach me if any of you have anything. Thanks!

From; attracting lady bugs
"Ladybirds can also be attracted into your garden with pollen-rich blooms.
Flat-topped flowers such as yarrow, angelica, fennel and dill are great, along with common companion plants like calendula, sweet alyssum and marigold.
Offer ladybirds somewhere to overwinter too."

I say this half joking and half serious. Plant some sick or stressed plants there too. Those will attract aphids which I believe are a primary food source for part of the lady bug life cycle.
Try 100 things. 2 will work out, but you will never know in advance which 2. This tiny ad might be one:
