Pardon me while I celebrate, actually being able to create a new topic, because I could not find it anywhere else. Happy Dance!

Anyhow, as I was dehydrating some Comfrey for use in soap, I thought I wonder if this would make a good fish food.

Positives
- high in protein
- Grows well and I have a lot

Are there any negatives? And what other plentiful plants I likely already have may be good for this application?

I would love to stop buying fish food, I have some azolla

Anyway, when the internet doesn't seem to know, I figure my best option is to consult the permies gurus.
Thanks in advance

Update

So I started looking for information about what % of carb/fat/protein for fish, but I really couldn't find anything.
I found mentions in a book/magazine(s) but when I tried to actually acquire this content it was unavailable.
So, I just decided to try it.
I dehydrated comfrey, while it was fresh and hot it was easy to crumble into small fish sized pieces. If I did not crumble it immediately it absorbed moisture and would not crumble.

So, I just add comfrey more as an augment to fish food, I would still love to get to a completely sustainable fish food grown on my homestead, but for now I table these efforts.

If you had one suggestion, what would it be?

A fine suggestion, currently on the list of I meant to do that this year, but I never got around to it, between my chickens and fish BSL could be my smartest move yet.

Thanks for the reminder and soft kick in the rear, maybe I  still can get it done this year.
