The use of Fungi to fix issues we are facing fascinates me to no end.
I live next to a mostly unused stretch of railroad and wonder what steps could be taken to help remediate some of the soil that has been sprayed and spilt upon for years. I remember seeing trucks working down the rails spraying pesticides, biocides, fungicides, and all manners of other products to keep down the brush and preserve the track.
I am mostly proud of the recent years of getting even pioneer species to grow closer to the tracks now that I have not seen a spraying truck in the last two years but I hold my breath.
I don't dare try to experiment with it now... but a bioremediation mushroom that can digest pressure treated and heavy metals sounds incredible.

Nature has a way, doesn't it?
