Warren County is the first county west of the high priced St. Louis and St. Charles Counties with low taxes and less regulations. While many areas outside of the metropolis of St. Louis are seeing an influx of
freedom seeking individuals, Warren County is my pick. Soils in Warren County range from dark rich topsoil to rockier substrates, farms are few in that area so many areas are heavily wooded with prized lumber like black walnut, sycamore, hickory, and white oak. Many places have lakes, creeks, pastures, outbuildings. My neighbors and I live just north of Wright
city in unincorporated and a few of us are going to be homesteading.
Land is opening up around that area and it's already moving from a very impoverished town to one with growth and people wanting to connect with the land. Business like Long Row Lavender are helping to attract more like minded people out this way and I want to personally invite anyone looking to homestead to check out Warren County Missouri. I'd love to connect if you're already here too!
