Hello everyone, i wanted to ask which type of freshwater edible fish would be suitable for fish farming in a tank?
Must be heat and cold tolerant, preferably herbivorous or at least omnivorous.

Konstantinos, welcome to the forum!

Knowing the general area of your part of the world might make it easy to know what kinds of fish are raised there.

If I were picking a fish to raise I would pick something that I liked to eat, such as bass or catfish.

Some folks might like to raise Rainbow Trout.

I have heard that Tilapia is popular at the grocery store. This non-native species that I might not want to raise.

I live in Greece.
Silurus Glanis, Barbus barbus, Carassius auratus gibelio, Rutilus, Cyprinus carpio are some of the Greek freshwater fishes.

Which of those fish species are favorable for eating?

Which are readily available at the grocery store?

Which fish can be found in restaurants?

To me, these are questions that I would ask myself if I were planning a fish farm.

And which fish would bring in the most profit?

I hope someone will be able to give you better advice than I can.
