I keep
rabbits as pets ad fiber producers. They live in the house and use litter boxes. I've noticed that
mushrooms seem to pop up frequently pop up in the areas I've mulched with used litter and in the
compost heap. It occurred to me that if mushrooms grow so well in rabbit litter, perhaps I
should try making a special bed of it and inoculate it with mycelium. I'm new to mushroom culture, so I'm wondering if there are any factors I need to take into consideration. I'm thinking about trying shaggy manes or king stropharia. The litter I use is pelleted sawdust (stove pellets), and in addition to rabbit waste, also contains some spilled
hay, and perhaps a bit of fur. Does this sound like it could work?
