I found this TEDx video earlier today. He is essentially advocating collecting leaves and composting them separately from kitchen scraps etc... Kitchen scraps go to worm bins, leaves get shredded collected and composted.

He doesn't get technical, but is quite entertaining.

He goes against some of the normal advice for composting (mix everything, green brown ratios etc...). I suspect that this an example of using fungal breakdown to make humus rather than hot bacterial composting. This matches up with some of the stuff I've been reading elsewhere; specifically that cool fungal breakdown makes different compost which is more durable in the soil. It also matches some of my own direct observations.

Quite entertaining! He must have been within earshot when I went on one of my rants about the StupidPeopleBags that they sell at Home Despot.

I'm gonna make him a tiny ad he can't refuse!
