I've been interested in rocket stoves for about a year now and plan on heating my shop with a RMH this winter. So I'll be around asking dumb questions and making uninformed comments….

Hi Rick; The best thing for you to do is get a copy of ianto evans book, rocket mass heaters, available on line as a download or from amazon or cob cottage. This book will answer a lot of questions as well as give you the proper terminology to ask questions here at permies .

I'll 2nd that. Rocket Mass Heaters book, by Ianto Evans and Leslie Jackson, is a must have for anyone even thinking about building an RMH. The newly release 3rd edition hard copy is out, and I got mine from:
