This week Darren Doherty will be joining us to talk about all sorts of large farm issues.

There are four copies of his book, Regrarian's Handbook Chapter 1 up for grabs.

Darren will be stopping by on the forum over the next few days answering questions and joining in discussions.

From now through this Friday, any posts in this forum, ie the large farm forum, could be selected to win.

To win, you must use a name that follows our naming policy and you must have your email set up in Paul's Daily-ish email.

The winner will be notified by email and must respond within 24 hours.

Posts in this thread won't count, but please feel free to say hi to Darren and make him feel welcome!

Hey Darren

Glad to see you made it over from Regrarians FB, which I love the content there, too.

Looking forward to your U.S. visit whenever that ends up being.

Welcome Darren! I've really enjoyed listening to nearly everything you have on Itunes and YouTube. I look forward to this new book as a chance to see with my eyes what I've been hearing, but also too compensate you for the valuable education you've provided me already.

Welcome, Darren. Can you tell us how your new book builds on, compliments, or differs from Bill Mollison's Permaculture Design Manual?

Welcome Darren!

My wife and I very much enjoyed your family's presentation at the University of Vermont and the following 2 day Regrarian Open Consultancy held at the magnificent Shelbourne Farms Estate last September hosted by Vermont Edible Landscapes. It was exciting to see the Regrarian Platform applied to a former Rockefeller estate. The wagon ride around the estate grounds in the cold pouring rain with Abe Collins was one of the most memorable parts as it brought the whole group a bit closer - literally huddled together for warmth, and gave you the chance to wear your Regrarians sheep lined oilskin jacket.
We are all excited for the Regrarian Handbook, and I am already enjoying the first chapter electronically, can't wait for the hard copy as it will be a very welcome addition to my toolkit!
Keep up the great work! You have a great voice for this transformative time!
Cheers to Regeneration!

Thanks to you all for your welcome messages.

Couple of points if I may:

1. US Tour – we're staying put here in central Victoria for this year until we get the book done. We'll come to the US next year with a formal book and course tour. We might step out during the year for some film festivals following the release of the feature-length Polyfaces documentary

2. PDM comparison – the PDM is a book of design primarily and the Regrarians Handbook (RHB) is a book of process and 'how-to'. Its page to a subject and 'cuts to the chase' which is a tremendous writing challenge as I am incredibly virbose! Working with Andrew Jeeves (the designer and editor of the PDM) is a blessing as he has had 26 years to recover from working on the PDM which as anyone could imagine would have been a monumental effort in the pre-PC period. These days Andrew has the Adobe CC suite, a kick arse iMac and 27" Wacom tablet in his old house next to his oyster lease on Lake Wonbyn on the southern NSW coast...this makes revisions and drawing a tonne easier than it was back in 1986! Plus his author has access to the same tech...

Cheers and thanks again all,

Darren

So I ran the winner picker app in the forum software and we have 2 winners.

Miles Flansburg
and
Luke Groce

Congratulations Miles and Luke!

I sent you an email to ask for the email address of the person that first referred you to Permies.com. That person (if qualified) will also get a copy of the book and a permies care package.
