Hello. My name is Collin I'm 36 and I'm pretty hardcore into nature. I love it. It's my Xbox. My love. My life. I loved going to the farm we used to have in Illinois growing up. Helping with cows pigs goats etc. I've always had a calling to nature. Reason I've never been married I'm guessing bc I haven't met a woman yet that loves nature as much as me. You see them on TV tho lol smh. I wasn't lucky enough to have any kids which is a bummer bc I've noticed kids are drawn to me like magnets and I get to be myself around them (A jackass) but I guess it's not in the cards for me. Oh well *shrugs* Just explaining myself bc I saw a few of these type posts and all the first reactions from people wanted an explanation of 'who they are'. I'm just "me". I am a union worker. Food Union. FarBest Foods. I slay turkeys and chickens all day and when I'm not at work I'm in the woods bc I'm devoted to bush craft and primitive living. I have A LOT of construction experience. A LOT of landscape experience and A LOT of animal handling experience. )) I'm no stranger to physical labor. At all. I'm 6'3 and 220lbs so I have the ability to lift things over 50lbs for long periods lol. I've been told I'm a very good artist. I don't think I am at all but I've done a lot of things with that particular inherited skill that has paid the bills. Including hand percussion|woodcrafting|painting|sculpting|drawing|jewelry|cooking etc....Ok Ok. My point. Enough rambling. Just want to know if there is a community or something out there that would trade labor for housing. Not even housing. I'm happy with a lean-to with my hammock. Wanted to meet other people like me. Live together. Grow together. And since I don't have one. Be a family. Live off the land. So if there is a farm or community out there that needs a strong large skill set human being that will do whatever he needs to do by the sweat of his back to live off the land with others exactly like me I am 100% definitely your man!! Just looking for a place that grows hunts fishes etc it's own food and is completely absorbed into nature like I am and fully lives off the land and works together as a team/family. The way I think it should be. The original way. I figured this would be a good place to try. So if there is. I'm talking very long term stay. If there is a place like that. IF it exists please pass the info my way. I'll relocate in a half a second if there is. Thank you for taking the time to read all this garbage I typed lol. Keeping my fingers crossed!!! bushcraftgoblin@gmail.com

Do you have any current info on that community? I have followed that website for some time and it has never been updated. I emailed them to inquire if they are still active and never got a response.

Howdy! I read your post and, uh-I need a handyman. I don't know if you would like it here, because I am vegetarian. I only have 2.5 acres and trying to grow veggies and be somewhat sustainable. I would like to have chickens. There is a beef packing plant here, since it seems you work in that industry. I just need lots of help: I a 63 and since my husband passed on I need work around the place. Maybe not exactly your dream life, but....

So this is... of no use but I wanted to thank you for sharing yourself. I feel you. I too am seeking a life that reconnects and little things I happen upon like your post give me fuel. Are you familiar with Charles Eisenstein and The More Beautiful World Our Hearts know is possible? Probably you are I wish you well.
