Summary

Credit: Destiny Hagest

Paul talks to Ran Prieur in this podcast, and they cover a lot of topics. One thing that really stood out to me was Ran's idea that most people are externally motivated to get things done. Ran talks about how a tightly knit community, like a tribe, forms its own internal motivation, and how to start the transition to that mindset. He refers to someone who left a tribe to go to the city for a couple of years, and came back and was kind of a layabout. The tribe was patient with him, and after a while, the guy got back into the swings of things and was a regular contributor again.

Paul and Ran also talk about permaculture branding, the watering down of ideas to reach the masses, the concept of organic, and on a more technical level, plant toxicity.
