After taking dormant cocoons out of the refrigerator once outside temperatures are correct, how long do the cocoons take before the bees hatch? In other words how long do the cocoons need to be warmed up by outside temperatures before they hatch?

I know leaf cutter bees hatch later in the season but do they go outside the same time as Mason bees?

Can both types of bees coexist in the same hive? What size hole should be leaf cutter bee have to nest in? Or do they use the same 5/16 hole the mason bee uses?

Thank you.

Others know more about this than I do, though from my dusty-crusty memory, it's not time related when they hatch, it's temperature related.

Hopefully, I'm close, but I think it's 50F for mason bees and closer to 70f for leafcutter bees.

Joseph answered your question about preferred hole/nesting sizes in your other thread:  https://permies.com/t/62501/critters/Mason-leaf-cutter-bees-questions, with a cool chart event!
