I stumbled upon a way to apply DE for insect control, and it saved me a ton of time and energy. I simply filled this funnel with DE, and dragged it around all of my floor corners. The stem of this funnel is just long/thin enough that DE will not flow out unless you agitate it. The "flex" feature may help in this regard, but the stem is rigid, which is important. When dragging the funnel tip across the floor, friction agitates the stem, and I got a perfect 1cm wide line of DE wherever I wanted it. More friction means more DE flow, so I drag it lightly across carpeted surfaces, and push a little harder on hard/smooth surfaces. It only clogged a few times, which is fixed by lightly tapping the funnel tip on the wall.

I still use the duster for unfinished spaces and hard to reach areas, but I really like this method for finished spaces because:
- it's faster
- I bend down less
- it holds more DE than my duster (less refills)
- it delivers DE in a neat line, not "plumes"
- it applies more DE to the surface, less into the air (not breathing it, wiping it off furniture)
- I need to mess with the duster more frequently, depending on how full it is, shaking it, sqeezing more, squeezing less - with the funnel it's just speed and pressure
- you can use a metal funnel to avoid plastic

Unfortunately, I can't find this exact funnel anywhere on the internet after much searching. I probably bought it at autozone 15 years ago, judging by the $1.89 price sticker. It's about 12" tall, 5" wide at the top and the opening at the bottom of the stem is about 7-8mm in diameter. You may need different dimensions depending on your humidity and the moisture content of your DE.

Anyway, it worked great for me, so I hope someone finds this helpful.
