Hi All -

I’m looking to meet folks in the Boston area (South End) who are either experienced in, or embarking on, homesteading; urban farming, sustainable agriculture. My family is from the Caribbean (Haiti); land cultivation and farming is a cultural inheritance that I feel called to preserve. I’m very new to permaculture’s principles but am super amped to learn and dive in!

I’m looking to meet folks who are either POC or have black/POC friends. Lol, sorry to have to be so blunt but ... life is real!

Cheers,
Dava

Thanks for the warm welcome, Pearl! You all seem like a friendly, happy bunch.

I’ve learned quite a bit just from skimming through the boards and appreciate folks (and Paul) being so open and generous with their knowledge.

Welcome Dava, Have you checked out http://bostonfoodforest.org/ (on Meetup as https://meetup.com/Boston-Permaculture/). I believe they maintain a handful of gardens/food-forests around the JP-Mattapan area. They also have some educational meetups (I went to an excellent lecture by David Jacke last month in JP). I'm in Salem, and just diving into permaculture myself.

Small world! We just bought land in the Haverhill MA area and are also looking to connect with folks. Thanks for the meetup links.
