This is getting a bit out of control.

I need to wrap up some projects that I've started.  I need to either get more footage, or ... something.  So I'm gonna make a big list.

Here is the long list of growies, for which I need more footage.  I want to do something like the mullein video:  with about six to twelve perspectives on the plant.  For the mullein video, Gordon Hogenson sent me about six video clips via an internet drop site.  I used two.  That worked really great.  Gordon also provided me with the documentation I needed to please youtube in case youtube got weird (which they have done for about six of my videos so far).

alder
alfalfa
apples
aronia
autum-olive
bedstraw
bee-balm
beets
bindweed
black medic
blackberries
black locust (yes, more)
borage
buckwheat
burdock
buttercup
camas
carrots
catnip
cattails
cedar
chickweed
chicory
choke cherries
cleaver
clematis
clover
comfrey
cottonwood
cow parsnip
cucumber vine

dandelion
dead nettle

water cress
white campion
willow
yarrow
yew

I have footage for all of these.  And need more before I push out a completed video.  And, I suspect that i will begin collecting footage on a lot more plants that are not listed here.

When you submit a pic or video clip for me to use, you must hand write a note that says "I give paul wheaton global commercial rights to use this video I made about _______."  The last word being whatever the subject is.  And then sign.  I need a picture of that note.  the wording is very important.  Please use this wording exactly.

For each topic that you provide me with pictures/videos/the-note:  I will put it into my video folder for that topic.  When i have enough, I will then edit together all of the pieces.  I might not use any of what you provided.  i might use all of it.  I will probably use about 20%.

I think video is best with people in it talking about the plant.  tell me what you want your title to say.  Gordon asked that his wife Jeni was mentioned as the camera person - so I did that in the description.  No problem.

That is exactly 100.

And there are another 20 videos for which I already have all the footage ready to go.  I just need to finish editing.

I like the idea of some of my next videos focusing a bit on things people see a LOT.  Usually in lawns.  Part of the mission is to persuade people to stop using "weed killer".  So if they see a lot of plaintain, and they see a video about the values of it, they might choose to leave it alone.

So I think the footage I want to focus on is:

plantain, dandelion, black medic, hawkweed, white clover, yarrow

Right now may be the very best time to get video footage of these.

Regarding nature sounds - there are tons of them on the site where I upload my audio: http://www.freesound.org/

They just did a major overhaul of the site, and changed the default license for uploaded sounds, from "Sampling+" to "Attribution".  For the Attribution-licensed sounds, you just have to give attribution.  For Sampling+, you have to seek permission from the owner to use it commercially.  But I would guess that 80% of the people would give you permission.

e.g. here is one of my field recordings: http://www.freesound.org/people/daveincamas/sounds/45481/

Dave, over the last two years I have spent far too much time looking into all of the different bits and bobs of "permission" and what youtube gets wonky about.  Rather than regurgitate all of it, or burn 20 hours talking about it with you and the hundreds of other people that feel the same as you about it:  I am going down the path I have outlined for a lot of good reasons.  I still make it freely available.  And I maintain a copyright on everything.

Brice,  I think I'm gonna pass on goat courtship. Thanks!
