Have you seen this?

"Americans’ right to access fresh, healthy foods of their choice is under attack. Farmageddon tells the story of small, family farms that were providing safe, healthy foods to their communities and were forced to stop, sometimes through violent action, by agents of misguided government bureaucracies, and seeks to figure out why."

Jocelyn and I watched this. This might be the most important movie of 2012. Although I thought I was gonna puke from just the idea of what big ag is doing to crush little ag with our tax dollars.

This is in depth information on five or six farms where the goverment showed up and gutted farms. The closest thing to "reason" that was ever provided was "political reasons".

It costs to watch. If you follow this link it is four bucks and permies.com gets a kickback from amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00744WZ8U/rs12-20

So we don't allow discussion of politics here on permies. So I would like to suggest that folks post this stuff to forums where you can discuss politics and make a link from here to that thread. Maybe there can be a dozen links from permies to the sites where there is discussion.

For those folks new to "renting" a movie on Amazon, just below the picture of the movie is "watch instantly with Amazon Instant Video" and $3.99. It took me a moment to find that. Thanks, Paul, for posting this link.

There's quite the nature sighting in the podcast we made for Farmageddon. Sorry if my gasp startles you! (I won't give a spoiler and sorry, the podcast isn't quite out yet.)

The movie was excellent and disturbing. Now that we have the new politics & justice forum, there is a Farmageddon thread there. That might be a great place to list/link all the food justice organizations that were listed in the film.

That was a great podcast" farmageddon" Nice balance with you both and truly people need to know beyond a doubt ,why permaculture. You know more about the situation than I thought. People don't like to talk about the real problems ,we owe it to the less fortunate and now ourselves to take charge. As Vandana Shiva says "occupy your life"
Best Wishes

Tony, your post is fine.

And it was your post that got me thinking that we need this "politics and justice" forum. Something that I have always avoided because I really don't wanna create a breeding ground for a hate fest. Then the idea popped into my head to have it link to other stuff where people can express all that they wanna express.

So this works out fine.

A bit OT, but someone near me captured a photo of probably the same one that sauntered through my back yard:

Great Movie!! You can see it on YouTube for free and then send to all yr friends for them to watch.
The more my eyes are open to the stupidity of the FDA and our Government it make me want to stick my head in a hole.
But the fact is America is waking up and coming out of there lil Matrix/LaLa land.
I know so many people that just don’t care or want to know about our freedoms disappearing. When you actually force them to listen then they
wake up and understand.
This movie is great along with many other movies for education.
To many people think the Government helps & keep them safe. But it seem in recent years our government has been hurting us more than not.
WAKE UP PEOPLE AND DO IT NOW BEFORE ITS TO LATE.
Support your local small farmers stand up them that are being prosecuted for selling raw milk veggies or whatever the government deems unfit.
If we all just keep watching these movies and never speak against it, what good does it do?
Write your Congress & Senate and tell them they will not have a job the next election year if they don’t stand for our God given right to eat healthy foods.
