Anyone here have experience using a grain polisher?

I recently discovered the existence of home-scale rice-polishing machines, such as this one. For some reason I had gone my whole life having never heard of such a thing. The process of removing bran from grains was always some form of alchemy performed only by industrial food processors, so finding something so simple was huge!

But, before actually buying one of these little beauties, I was wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with them? Any brands to stay away from? Advice for getting the most out of them? Maintenance tips that aren't in the user's manual?

(I am not looking for nutritional advice, so please don't lecture me on the value of eating bran.)

Do these work for removing the outer skins from other things, such as beans or dry soup peas? Are they sturdy enough to do the same for Job's tears?

I'd be very interested to hear anyone's experience with these machines, please. Thank you!
