I have a chance of casting a 6 inch burn tunnel and riser as one complete casting. I wanted to use cardboard tube, suspended in a wooden box or crate former. I believe that I can get a good quality cast product out of this one use pattern. Once set I will fire it to burn out the cardboard. My concerns are, will a 6 inch round burn tunnel work, and how long should it be ? I will use a vibrating table to make sure all the air is out of the cast. The end product should be a large square L shape with a nice clean 6 inch bore running through it. Could this work?

I have a very old Servel propane fridge with a burner that is not long for this world, so I want to try and see if I can rocketise it. I have seen a couple of experiments on youtube, but this is a full size deal. Any advice or words of wisdom in regards to converting to a rocket stove burner? The fridge is in OK condition and is on an Island in the middle of a lake ( with lots of wood) and there is only wood heat oil lights and no hydro. Is mini rocket stove power possible?

After reading your tip I had to dig through my junk for my old blender with a broken jug, tried the canning jar..... brilliant idea. Thanks
