We had a magic bullet blender and it broke on us in about 6 months of using it regularly for making baby food. I now have a Blendtec, which is a lot more expensive, but I've used it 2500 times and its still going as strong, vs about 200 times w/ the bullet before breakage.
One of the things I prefer doing is buying things that I know will last as even though it costs more money, the raw materials involved are comparable to a regular blender yet will last longer than potentially dozens of lower quality items, which in my mind is much more
sustainable and environmentally sound.
