We are inviting volunteers, with their hearts and hands, to commit fully to this project. These volunteer positions will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 weeks. We invite volunteers to be open to manual labor and activities which are part of building an Earthship. The Lagu Damai Foundation’s Earthship-inspired build has been intentionally named “Awan Damai”, which means “Peace of Clouds” in Bahasa Indonesia. The uniqueness of this Permaculture Certificate Design Course is the combination of permaculture theory and practice. Learn to understand nature through observation and discovery, and then develop a design for your own garden in alignment with nature. All learning is based on honoring the fundamental ethics of earth care, people care, and fair share, which are the basis of permaculture.
In order to ground the intellectual permaculture approach, the Permaculture Design Course (PDC), created by the founder Bill Mollison, is embedded a morning Yoga class and an evening heart meditation; it also involves your hands physically touching with the earth. This holistic approach creates a direct connection with your heart, and earth, with its life giving energies. Permaculture principles can be deepened through incorporating psychological values such as appreciating and honoring the Earth with all its living Beings.



Living Permaculture Through the Heart is a special experience that allows you to be intellectually stimulated, physically engaged with the soil and immersed in unfolding your HeartSelf -Intelligence in the tropical gardens of Jiwa Damai in Bali.
For: This course is for all who wish to make a positive and effective change in their own lives and translate it into action -- act as a change agent. This includes farmers, growers, gardeners, teachers, educators, town planners and more. We offer this course to a maximum of 15 participants in order to focus our attention to the needs of every person.
Facilitators: An international team of certified Permaculture Specialists, professional Yoga teacher and HeartSelf-IntelligenceTM method specialist will teach and assist through the intellectual and experiential learning process: Dr. Margret Rueffler, care taker of Jiwa Damai organic garden and retreat, and others to be announced.

Module One: 03 - 07 October, 2016 (Module 1 can be taken independently of two and three)
Module Two: 09 - 13 October, 2016
Module Three: 15 - 17 October, 2016

This is a Permaculture Certificate Design Course. To receive confirmation of completion for the Permaculture Design Certification Course Through the Heart, participation in all 3 modules is required from 03 - 17 October, 2016.

At Jiwa Damai we are looking for a flexible person with much heart, who wishes to do a 6 month volunteership with possible long term job as a planer for our permaculture garden. 4 hectar, need to be able to plan timely for our needs, our kitchen and retreats and have experience in permaculture/organic farming.

Tropical experience desired, not a must. Needs to be able to lead a small team and work through empowerment, know about rotation of plants, companion planting, keeping our seed bank up to date . Our garden is created with much heart, and we do not keep livestock. We are organically certified and need an heart based person with experience.
