Pending, under contract.

Nestled among rolling hills and plentiful oak trees, this 10.7 acre ranchette is comprised of two unique structures. The main dwelling, built by Adolf Kruckemeyer, has gleaming hardwood floors and large public rooms, filled with natural light. The spacious wrap around porch can be accessed from the kitchen, the master, or from the office. The second structure is a modern 1350sqft 'choose your own adventure' playroom filled with architectural details. An open loft over looks the huge main room and a balcony with views off the back. Downstairs is plumbed for a full kitchen and currently has a full bathroom. Due to its location outside of city limits, there are no restrictions, no city taxes and hunting is permitted. There is a private 300ft well to the Trinity Aquifer, a garden with a 6ft fence, carport, and two of the original barns. Although privately located off of 16, there is 180ft of hwy 16 frontage for that business you've always wanted to open. Bandera Texas Ranchette for Sale

Thanks for looking!

Hello everyone, I know many of you rely on farmers markets for selling your crops, meat, honey, dairy, etc.  After seeing so many posts about farmers and ranchers losing contact with their consumers and products being destroyed, I decided to start a FB group bringing buyers and sellers together.  An online resource to find local producers of food. We started 4 days ago and have over 400 members.  I would love to have you all join, whether you’re buying, selling, or both.  Thank you for reading and I look forward to your homegrown goods.  💜   The group is Ranch To Table

Oh!!  I have a great one!  If you plant butterfly weed, the aphids will flock to it and leave your other plants.  The butterfly weed is an amazing sacrificial plant, it has a taproot so the aphids won't be able to kill it, and of course, it's the preferred food for the monarch butterfly larva (make sure you get the right species).  The other beautiful thing that happens is because the aphids are so concentrated the ants have no trouble finding them and the aphid sap that they love to eat.   Before I had my giant butterfly weed, I used a dust buster to suck up all the aphids.

The only other thing that would be bad, would be fly eggs.  Do you have it covered with a coffee filter or something similar?  Don't use cheesecloth, the holes are too big.  I also don't like paper towels because they hold water.  Just wait it out and see what happens.

Doesn't look like mold.  It does look like a new scoby.  When it doubt just wait it out.  As long as it's not fuzzy, you are good.  Also you will see some weird looking yeasty beasties in the brew.  Totally normal, but they can look like something out of a horror movie.

A mason jar or pickle jar is a great idea.
I use coffee filters and an elastic band to hold it.  Cheesecloth has too big of holes, IMHO.  I also don't want anything on top that holds moisture, like a paper towel.
I also would not use "live" vinegar for starter.  You can use dead vinegar (white distilled) to bring the pH down, but real kombucha is better to get it going.

As long as it's not moldy, it should be good to go.
What kind of black tea did you use?  If it was something like Earl Grey, it may not work as the bergamot has anti-microbial action

Did you put them in coconut milk? or Coconut water?  I usually use coconut water to revitalize mine, but it has to be organic.  Mine do not like coconut milk.  Also the warmer weather should get them moving.

Hi Jason,
I ferment quite a few things.  The only issues I’ve every had were my water kefir getting too boozy and my sourdough starter growing faster than I could feed it.   Oh and the pain that is Kahm yeast!  My set up is just jars and coffee filters.  I do have a crock for the kraut and a seedling pad for the booch.  If I do any other anaerobic things, like salsa, I’ll use a Fido jar.

Not sure if this helps,
Michele
