Online i have seen videos but they are harvesting gigantic daikon that are popping out of the ground.

Mine have flowered so i thought I should harvest them, but pulling one up it was tiny.  Do they develop after they flower or do they just not work here??

Pee on them... Not a difficult task with my kids😜 we have other organic resourses too:, rabbit droppings ancd chicken waste on soiled straw (could those be helpful?) . They are already mulched with grass cuttings and I will crush some egg shells and throw them in.

I was worried to add to basil, cilantro and spinach ammonia from chickens and rabbits, should I for the sake of the tomatoes?

Thank you for all of those resources, i haven't had time to read through yet, but i will!

How can i amend the soil? I think it wouldn't hurt to add soil too, but it is pretty densly planted with basil under the tomato, i don't know how without smothering my other plant, do i need to sprinkle it or something?

I have the copper spray preparation, is it safe to use while the plat is setting fruit?

Thank you!

Is this early tomato blight?
We have had pretty hot weather with no rain, but it has been a little humid, definitely not dry. I water the plants regularly, could this be too much water?
One in 4 has the yello, but they all have the curling leaves... Any recomendations?

Thanks!

I took off the super packed one and left the others because they all look like that, so i guess I'm either going to have catfaced tomatoes or no tomatoes at all. I'm just going to hope for the best, thanks for your help!

Thanks for the reassurance! Here are a couple of pictures of the flowers, one of them looks like it may be catfaced, could you please take a look?

We have never had success with large varieties, so i would rather eliminate potential problems to allow for a higher chance of at least one or two healthy, delicious tomatoes.

I have 4 little containers that I planted with tomatoes and under the tomatoes basil, cilantro, strawberry spinach.  The tomato plants have made some really big, yellow flowers, that I got really excited about, even though I have never seen such big flowers on our plants.  In our real veggie garden the tomatoes have set fruit, and I rarely see an open yellow flower 2 days in a row.  I don't know if this is because I pay WAY WAY less attention to each individual plant down there, or if something is up with these plants in the containers.  The flowers have been on the plant for at least 4 days, and they are big.  In the veggie garden I plant mostly cherry or smaller tomatoes because of the sun exposure, in the containers I think I planted one larger variety, I don't totally remember, some were random seeds I had saved without labelling, some were from seed savers, and I think it was a large variety, a hungarian purple which I think is the only one without any flowers as of yet.

So I guess my question is, do I need to try to help pollination, give up hope or just be patient?

Thanks to all!

I came across this post because my tomatoe raised beds are full of ants and was wondering if that was bad or just a leave it be situation.

As far as ants in the house we had a few once, and i was told they were scouts and to wash their hormone scent away with vinegar and it totally worked! The ants never came as a highway!!

I've also heard the won't cross coffee grounds

I don't know much about ducks, we have chickens, but I would definitely separate the duck from its mates. If it is an infectious disease or bacteria you don't want to contaminate all.

Call your vet, if you don't have one, call your local vet clinic and ask for a reference of someone who treats ducks. I had a sick chicken once and the vet i contacted gave me a lot of free information on the phone.

I think that as far as home treatment goes, if you have already done antibiotics and it hasn't worked, you either need a vet consult with a simple alternative (if possible via phone) otherwise you might have to think about what you are willing to spend on a duck, as the vet could suggest expensive treatment.

I hope she pulls through... In bocca al lupo

I read a bit online and saw that i should have eased them outside, which i didn't, so sunburn sounds right.

I've never fertilized any of our plants, I've always just hoped for the miracle of nature (that so far has always pulled through😉),so i won't fertilize now for sure.

This is my first year trying to learn and improve yield, methods ecc.  I work full time, have rabbits, chickens and have two small kids so i don't have much time, i read not enough and experiment.. I'll probably fail a lot and ask uninformed questions and hope to get better and in the meantime am so grateful for your input and help!

Thanks to all permies!
