No real problems that I can think of, I planted 3 apples, 3 pears, a plum and a plumcot here at Rose Villa on a two rail split rail fence just a year and a half ago. That's 8 trees on a fence 80 ft long. I had some aphid problems on a couple of the apples, but that was easy to deal with, squished them with my fingers. Already have some apples and pears coming along, not many but then the trees are still new.
Planted strawberries under the fence, just last February and they are already producing lots of berries.
This is just south of Portland, just several hundred yards above the Willamette river so my climate is not quite yours, but the fence faces south and gets full sun.
With a fence as tall as yours you could do some really fancy espliering.

Here in Oregon it's ok to trap moles, but up in Washington you cant use squeeze traps.
And the moles are taking over!!

Not sure if this helps, I read a book a while back about moles, and moles are related at least in the damage they do and how they do it, with gophers.
The auther, a guy who made his livng for 25 years controling moles in the Willamette Valley Oregon, said that ALL the methods of mole control worked. Even the 'old wives tales' the trick is to get the mole to the method.
In other words it doesnt help to pee down the gopher hole unless the gopher uses that hole! And what's to stop the gopher from just digging a detour around the pee soaked ground?
The bottom line of the book on mole control I'm getting this from is that you'd better just learn to live with the little citters. Or be prepared to fight touth and nail to the death, never surrender, never give up. After all moles and gophers have a place in this world too.
and yes there are moles down in my veggie garden!, but they dont eat that much so I just let'em live.

You dont say what part of the world you are living in, which might help us free advice givers give free advice.
If you look around you might find there are community gardens near where  you live, I know you cant do a complete permaculture thing at a community garden, but you do what you can with what you have.  And who knows your permy ideas may rub off and start a revolution at the community garden!

Two points with dogs,
1, when dogs walk or run, they twist their feet at the end of their stride, its the way their legs work. So even small dogs will rip and tear a lawn over an amazingly short time. And I am seeing trails along the fence and at the gate in your photos.
2, my experiance over 30 years being the head gardener at a 21 acre senior living center that allows dogs (they really do extend a persons life span!), has shown me that dog manure and urine will damage a lawn.  Bare spots where the manure and urine is too concentrated and heavy growth where it's diluted. And again, I am seeing bare spots and heavy growth in your photos.
I'm not saying you dont have other problems as well, just dont discount the damage 4 small dogs can do to a lawn, I've seen it and been amazed at how quicklly it can happen.

This lady, a phd from WSU comes at the subject from a "research based" perspective. I interpret the article as saying, "corn gluten, nice try but no cigar"

Around this neck of the woods the common wisdom on peach trees is......no.  Peach leaf curl is just too hard to deal with, too many sprays of too many chemicals. 
I know there are commercial growers here, but I also know how many times they spray and the chemicals they use!!!
Does anyone else have any experiance with peach leaf curl especially in the Pacific Northwest, Willamette valley area?
