I harvested 1000s of pounds, of Chaga.
I once had 2000 birch trees tapped, collecting Sap for making wine. Lady of the Woods.

Company was Sap World.

Yet had a bad business partner. Took on partners and then they got rid of me, from my own company.

Was crazy times.

Yet been thinking about setting up a new tapping site and making birch syrup. I want to look at smoking Rainbow Trout and using a birch glaze.

Birch Glazed Smoked Rainbow Trout.

You knows it's good. 😋

As for Chaga, it's the best. I had a Facebook group/page. FB called me a drug dealer for promotion Chaga.  Blocked the site.

I had 100s of research papers, links about Chaga, health benefits,  how to harvest, how to use.

And I was driving the other day, looking for Chaga on the trees. I found some. Now I can get back into drinking Chaga tea.

I'm in Newfoundland Canada. 57,000 hectares of birch stands.  Lots of Chaga.

We I stated, very few knew about it. Now many are out hunting, selling, consuming.

I made tea bags,  tonic, capsules, powder and raw chunks.

Good stuff, Chaga

The skip book is available with a 50% affiliate fee.  If you scroll to the bottom of any page, there is a link that says "affiliate program".  All of my stuff is available with a 50% affiliate fee.

Thanks Paul.

The 2024 offers need to be updated.

Yes still thinking and more questions

1. Does Permies.com have a Wiki of the site?

I'm going to be doing some work on The Seasteading Institute wiki site. And thought about having one for SKIP.

2. I'm thinking of Affiliate marketing online to create an income. Yet trying to find out what to market.

Maybe a SKIP Course.
Showing people how to do the SKIPs.
Get them in Skool.

Is this possible @Paul?

I can use the info in the book to teach a course and market it.?

Should being in some book sales.
And get people into a structured program and get Qualified for land.

It just seems like the number of otises is larger than the number of skippers getting that far.

I'm thinking, too much most times 😉
Than a Otis University (illegal to say) or an Academy 2 to 4 years of Committed individuals, with major of SKIP done locally and things that can be done local be completed at LABS.

A program that gets support from its membership.
Keep a free program, yet have a paid subscription and or tuition. For those more Committed.

The idea of match making would also be good. For it would give the Skippper a goal and incentive to know they can get a certain property, before hand and on completion.  Also they could have a place to do SKIP on the property. As their time and work means something.

I was talking with a young farmer and seems he wants to sell everything for $200k land, house, tractor, animals, etc.

It maybe a good opportunity. Have to look into it more. Seems the LAND qualifies  😀

Thanks for replying to my post @Paul @Mike

I know of at least one Otis in Canada.

I don't know of any land transfers but it's quite possible that if one happened, the people involved may not want to make it public or tell me.  I know some PEPpers have been contacted by Otises.

I like physical badges too but we couldn't figure out how to do it...

Permies.com records and displays your badges (see my signature line below my post)

As for the badges.  There are a few ways it can be done.

1. Collect and make a file with all the designs files in Google drive. I think jpeg is good. But can find out.
2. Have a embroidery make them per order, or bulk.
3. Offer them for sale or a service for people to buy directly from suppliers.

Get me a few Pic files and I can start looking at quotes.

It's my understanding that there are many Otis like individuals offering up land just for this project. Yet if we don't know, if there is or actually people getting land, them there is no point of doing the SKIP Program. Other than for one personal interest or pleasure of accomplishment.

I'm sure some or most are doing it for enjoyment. Yet some have to be doing SKIP for the hope to obtain land.

Can you check with @Paul to see what the status of land is, and or if any had actually gotten land?

We chatted in the past of doing  Tropical SKIP. I'm back from Panama, and in the 51st State LOL. Too much snow, and short growing seasons on the Great North.

Just seen the Skip on Mother Earth

https://www.motherearthnews.com/homesteading-and-livestock/self-reliance/skip-learn-to-homestead-zm0z23jjzawar/?r=5445B7804812E4Y&utm_source=email&utm_medium=omail&utm_campaign=MEN+BOM+eNews+02-18-25_01&utm_type=Editorial

I was thinking of the idea of starting a Skip Membership site to show, help and support doing the Skip.

I asked a couple of questions as to if there is land in Canada for Skip offering?

How many if any has actually gotten land from doing Skip?

I'm like the idea of badges, like in Scouts. Has anyone actually made physical badges, or setup a site for recording badges?

All interesting

I'm thinking of getting the book.

I'm at a point that I feel like giving up on the world and just build a cabin in the woods. I think Dick Proenneke was 53 or so when he built his cabin.

1. How many complete SKIP and got land?
2. Is there land in Canada, Panama that is being offered for Skip?

I can get land in NL, Canada for building a Remote Cabin. Yet I'm leaning towards a houseboat. No land taxes, or purchase needed.

I do have the ebook to get me started 😀

The more one shares, the deep we can get.

Everyone is on a path, and many paths do not cross, yet they are very similar.

Some paths are wide and far, some are narrow and short.
Some just goes around and around in circles.

Some will take a rise and step into the forest. They walk through and finds a beautiful lake, and set up stakes.

Some will leave the path, and travel down a road, brings them to places to be lost, maybe never to be found.

Yet no matter the how one walks, smile as you go. :)

Make it happy travel 😊
